Benefits

Events

We plan many member events during the year to support the educational, recreational and social interests of our members. Some of the events are held every year and some are created as  interest arises. These may include any or all of the following.

Communication

Members receive communications via Web site, newsletter, email and phone to stay informed on Guild activities and announcements.

Participation

Members can volunteer as Board members and on event and special committees. It's a fun way to get to know other people with like interests. Member support each other by participating in creating evenings.

Performance Wages (member and non-member benefit)

The Guild has set minimum wage guidelines for the Twin Cities which all dancers (regardless of membership) can take advantage of. Dancers should not take less than the Guild minimum rates below because it undercuts the Guild's effort to ensure good working conditions and wages for all.

Minimum club rates: $60 for 1 show / $75 for 2 shows / $90 for 3 shows. This is a special rate for clubs because they have regularly scheduled dance performances.

Minimum private party rates: $100 for 1 show.

Promotion

Members can use Guild communication vehicles to promote Middle Eastern events that they are coordinating. The Guild Portfolio allows members to be notified when requests are received by the Guild for teachers, performers and other skills.

Library

The Guild has a library of books, videos and magazines that members can borrow and enjoy. See Resources | Guild Library.
